Remember the time when you dropped your phone ortablet on the ground, no matter how “gently,” and your screen would automaticallyshatter? Or when your phone and your keys were in the same pocket or bag, andyour key would scratch the living hell out of your screen? Well Corning triedto fix this problem by creating the original Gorilla Glass back in 2008. Thisglass revolutionized the screens we had on our electronics. The screen was very scratch resistant, aswell as very durable. I’ve personallydropped my phone one too many times and there is not one scratch in sight.
However, the Gorilla Glass can only do so much, and thereare still numerous cases of screen shattering, as no technology isperfect. Corning has announcedthat at the upcoming International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), they will beshowing off their new and improved Corning Gorilla Glass 2.
Not too much is known about the new technology, butCorning has mentioned that it will be thinner and more durable. To find outmore, check out the press release here.

I'm sort of an unconventional technologist. I graduated Binghamton University with an Environmental Science Degree, concentrating in Economics. I’ve always read about and discovered new technology and I’m excited about the opportunity to share my experiences with you. Through TheTechUpload, I can continue to discover new technology and share my love of technology to those with similar interests. With my knowledge and childlike curiosity of electronics and the environment, I’ll be able to provide a unique perspective on technology’s impact on our digital world. Technology drives our society today, and from my point of view, there's always something better or something to improve upon.
